Our Story

Pop'z BBQ & Catering started with one simple goal: to share the flavors and traditions of South Georgia BBQ. Inspired by my grandfather, Don Sands—known as Pop—this business is built on family, hard work, and a passion for good food.

Growing up, some of my best memories were spent outdoors, hunting, fishing, and learning to cook over an open fire with Pop. He taught me the kind of skills you don’t find in a recipe book, and today, every rack of ribs and smoked ham we make reflects that same care and tradition.

How We Do It

Our BBQ is cooked low and slow over custom-built wood-burning pits, just like Pop used to do. We use oak for heat and a mix of hickory and pecan for that signature flavor. Whether it’s pulled pork, brisket, or ribs, you can bet every bite is tender, smoky, and downright delicious.

Whether it’s a backyard party for 30 or a big wedding for 1,500, we’ve got you covered. Pop'z BBQ isn’t just about the food—it’s about making folks happy and treating everyone like family.
